International Famine Commemoration Conference, Newry 23 September-26 September

On Saturday 26 September the National Famine Commemoration will take place in Newry, County Down. This is the first time the event will be held in Northern Ireland and follows on from a successful hosting in Strokestown, county Roscommon in May 2014. An international Famine Conference will precede the commemoration and will include a lecture from Dr Ciarán Reilly of the CSHIHE on the world of the Ulster Cottier.
