Dr Reilly delivers keynote lecture at Quinnipiac University Conference

Women and the Great Hunger in Ireland

Dr Ciarán Reilly, Research Fellow at the CSHIHE, recently delivered a keynote lecture at the ‘Women and the Great Hunger in Ireland’ conference which took place at Ireland’s Great Hunger Institute in Quinnipiac University, Connecticut. The conference was organised by Professor Christine Kinealy and featured over thirty papers which addressed this important topic.

The subject of Dr Reilly’s keynote address was ‘Female petitions during the Great Famine’, which is based on his pioneering research into the Strokestown papers and other country house archives.
